The square that guards the castle gate

You're standing on Sint-Veerleplein, the stage in front of the castle. For a square so pretty, it has seen a lot of shouting. This was where the city gathered, complained, celebrated and occasionally got a bit too enthusiastic about justice. The old fish market house sits at one end; the castle glowers at the other. Stand in the middle and you can practically hear the arguments bouncing off the stone.
