The old fish market
The Oude Vismijn is the old fish market, and if those walls could talk they'd smell of herring. For centuries fish was brought here from the coast and sold under these historic structures before it could spoil — a trade that ran to a strict clock. The building has since been given a new life, but the bones and the name remain. In Ghent, even the fish get to keep their history.
