The little tower that used to be a nunnery

The Toreken — the little tower — started life as a nunnery and has since been a guild house and a corner of Ghent's daily bustle. Its tower is the giveaway: a medieval spine still standing while everything around it changed jobs. On this square the past and the present share a pavement. Look up, find the tower, and consider how many hands this stone has outlasted.
