Hotel d'Hane-Steenhuyse

Hotel d'Hane-Steenhuyse is an 18th-century grand townhouse with a very well-connected art collection — works attributed to Rubens and paintings by Petrus Norbertus van Reysschoot hang inside. In 1815 this house hosted Louis XVIII of France during the Hundred Days, which is a lot of history for one address. The Rococo confidence of the facade is the giveaway: this was a family saying, quietly but firmly, we have arrived.
