The corn market

Korenmarkt — the corn market — was named for the cereal trade that once filled this square, a time when grain was power and whoever controlled the grain controlled the city's dinner. It's been a market, a meeting place and, later, a spot for grand buildings and cafés. Stand at the edge and look at the mix of styles: the square has been redecorated almost as often as opinions have changed here.
