The velodrome that survives everything

The Kuipke is a historic indoor velodrome built in 1927, rebuilt after a fire in 1965, and best known as the home of the Six Days of Ghent — a legendary track-cycling race that packs the wooden track for six nights. It also hosts concerts and the occasional basketball game. There's something very Belgian about a venue where world-class athletes and pop bands share the same steep bowl. The Kuipke has outlasted almost everything built around it.
